Dan Antrim Student Council Advisor of the Year

02/01/2001

----------------------------------------------------

I've always known what a dynamic, inspirational and all around great guy Dan Antrim is, but I suppose I'm a little biased being that he is my big brother. I'm sure there are many of you who can make the same claim about your big brothers. But now the entire state of Arizona knows what a powerful influence Danny can be in peoples' lives. Just as he was as an active, now as an alumni and always to me.

Danny participates in both ends of the high school (teenage) spectrum. He has one of the hardest jobs a high school teacher can have - Special Education. On the other end, he is involved with the top kids in the class, as he is the Student Council Advisor. This is of course in addition to helping to raise his own two children and his Naval Reserve duties.

One of the responsibilities of being the Council Adviser, Danny recently had to accompany his Student Council to Yuma for the Annual Arizona State Student Council Conference. Of course I was not there but I can guess that many accolades were probably given out on awards night. Dan has only been the Advisor for a couple of years so I'm sure he was just happy to be sitting there with his students and having a great time. Award after award Dan's name was not called . . . until the end. Saving the best for last, Dan Antrim was awarded the "Student Council Advisor of the Year". Congratulations Danny! I'm not sure how many high schools there are in Arizona but they all have student councils and these all have advisors and our Danny was the best. I'm sure this is the first of many awards.

He actually said he is surprised to have received the award. I'm not.

- Author withheld as any of his little brothers could have written this.
