Work on Drachman Begins...07/21/1999 After a long and arduous process with the city and getting everything approved, work has begun on the property. Some of the upgrades/improvements we are making to the building include: Handicap bathroom and access in the front hall room, many of you remember as the guest room. New heating and cooling system. All new light fixtures for the back hall rooms. New doors and hardware on all of the rooms. Fire sprinkler system. Internet access for all rooms. You may be wondering where the money to do these improvements is coming from... I'm proud to say the Gamma Delta Holding Corp. has secured a loan with the national fraternity for $230,000. This loan encompasses all of the work to be done along with the purchase price of the fraternity. As I mentioned in a previous report, the house was purchased with alumni donations and a gracious swing loan from one of our alumni. The swing loan was paid off with money from the national loan. We're not particular... I would also like to take this opportunity to thank Chi Omega sorority for donating dressers and desks for the house. They were replacing all of their furniture and offered their old furniture to us if we would move their old furniture out of their house. Also, thanks is in order to Pi Phi sorority for donating all of their carpeting for our back hall bedrooms. I have had a number of alumni brothers contact me asking what they can do to help. I would like to encourage everyone to purchase a brick. This money goes toward the house renovations and alumni events such as homecoming, founders day banquet, this web site and newsletters. If you have any questions or would like to get involved in and advisor position, we could sure use your help. Please contact myself (520)519-0893 or Jonathan Wilt (520) 322-9956.
