I also wanted to warn everyone that durring homecoming, if you feed me enough of the barley pop, the riverdance may come out in full force. Think about it...who wants it? Who wants it? Come and get some.

For those of you who have not heard we have some big news:

Fatty (aka Mark Johnson - AE) is now engaged to his lady (Amy Carducci - Theta). Who would ever have thought that this day would come...but he did it. They are living together down in Tucson and looking at a Fall wedding.

Good work to those of you setting up the homecoming tent. It will go a long way towards re-colonizing if we show a lot of local alumni support (and organized support). I'm not happy that I will be unable to attend this year, but keep up the good work.

I'm still out here in San Diego with my wife and moving into the new house we just bought. Make sure to look me up if you are out this way.

Just an update on homecoming- I have been working on getting a Pike homecoming tent for us. I had to utilize my phenomenal sales skills to pull some strings, so that they would give us an extension. I was able register us, so we should have a tent. I am talking about a real tent, next to all of the other tents, not some make-shift shanty amongst the RV's. Anyway, there is still some work to do as far as registering for an alcohol and so fourth, which is due in October. We also need to figure out if we are going to want anything else, i.e., food and or/dj. Personally, I am thinking we go sand wall to wall, I know a great sand guy, who can get it at price. But seriously, if we can get a some guys to throw in some $$, it should be pretty good. We also need someone, that will be in Tucson, to go to a mandatory meeting in the fall- I think OCt. This should be good- I hope we have a big turn-out this year. PHI PHI, Adam Livingston "AH"

Hello fellow Pikes. My name is Mike Ellis and I am transfering to U of A from Southern Illinois University. I had high hopes of joining the Chapter here but have realized that your chapter, just as mine at SIU, has been pulled from underneath you. I have read through the message board and seen rumors of re-colonization for the 2005-2006 school year. I was curious if this was still going to be possible and if so, what can I do to help. If anyone has information on this or can help me get into contact with someone who does, I would more than appreciate it.

I'm sorry I haven't heard from some of you in quite a while, but John Barry, I have to put your business out on the street. John did his thing and had to go out with some really ugly mothers, but I must say that he chose the hottest daughter of the three. Well done Johnny.

Give a brother a call and maybe we can go out and find you a woman who is of age here in Scottsdale. I know you like 'em young and impressionable, but John, let's try to keep it legal homie.

Hey brothers,

It's to see that there is still a place for us to catch up and get back in touch, and that there are still so many alumni that check the site.

I'm living in NJ, where I've been since I left school in 93, and working in Portfolio Management at Bank of America in NY. My wife Tracie and I had a beautiful baby girl (Sophia) in September.

I was back in Tucson a couple of times, most recently for homecoming in 2003. I've been back in touch with Danny Lopez, Goa (Marc) Lobaugh, and Dustin Johnson. I still have a house out there and hope that we'll have a chance to visit the Pike house again (hopefully soon). Wouldn't it be great to walk back through that door? For everyone that is working to make that happen, thank you.

Once a Pike, always a Pike.

Hi to all,

You lose touch for a little while, and the whole chapter ups and dissapears. Its pretty sad to imagine 1525 not filled with Pikes, but hopefully we'll be back.

I've been living in Washington, DC since school (1995). Worked in politics a bit, and a quick stint in commercial real estate. But for the past five years I have been working as a television producer. Covered Michael Jordan's return to basketball for ABC Sports, but now do mostly documentaries for Discovery Channel and National Geographic. Just got back from Mexico with NatGeo, and hit England and France next month for a series I'm producing.

Don't see many Pikes here in D.C., but did see Tim Del Monte and Kelly last winter. My girlfriend and I hit the clubs and bars with them and got thuroughly wrecked. The difference now is the three day hangover. I also caught up with many brothers at Chad Clark's wedding in Phoenix in July '03. Other then that, just working and living in D.C.

Hope everyone is doing well, and if you end up in D.C., drop me a line. I also hear the Jeff Ralph may be in Paris working. If anybody has details, I'd love to test the cuisine when I'm there next month on business. Take care. -Lofft

Oliver and Adam,

The alumni tent doesn't happen by itself. You need to register a space with the University, pay for a tent rental and sign a waiver. You may still be able to get it taken care of for this year, but i doubt it. Here is the number for the alumni association. 800-232-8278. They should be able to help you with the arrangements. Everything can be done over the phone or by fax, so you don't have to be in Tucson to put this together. Our chapter has traditionally had very few people willing to coordinate this effort, but it would be apprecaited by many if one of you two could manage the task or find someone who will.

Hey fellas, I just saw that the website was back up and I thought I would drop a quick line. First off, Congrats JC, thats unreal man. To all of my pledge bro's who overachieved and graduated last spring, I hope the real world is treating you well, quitters....

I'm still in Tucson for my fifth and hopefully final year. I recently completed my first half of Officer Candidates School for the Marine Corps this past summer. It wasn't too bad, in fact parts of it reminded me of being a poop again. I liked it so much that I'm going back again next summer to finish up, then hopefully its off to pilot training. Sean Koffel will also be going to Marine Corps OCS in January, so if you see him or talk to him, give him a word or two of encouragement.

To address the recent problems with Sigma Pi and the old house at 1525, I believe that what occured were nothing more than a few isolated incidents that will not occur again. With that said, I was pretty upset to see a different fraternity in our house, but I suppose it is a better situation than the alternative (boarded up with bums desecrating the inside of the house).

I hope everybody is doing well, and if you are still in Tucson or just stopping by for a visit, give me an email sometime or call me at (443)250-7141 to catch up over a beer or eight. Also if any of you get a chance, you should give Dottie and Ray a call, I'm sure it would mean a lot to them. Call me or email me and i'll give you the number.

Subject: Alumni Status
Gamma Delta Brothers,

I am writing this posting in response to feelings and conclusions that I have come to recently as the year gets underway without the house in our daily activities. It seems to me that when we joined this fraternity, we did so with the intentions of becoming part of something that we would be proud to call our own for the rest of our lives. I found this to be the case for myself and many of the pledges that we all helped recruit over the last few years. Because our house is no longer a place we all get together for the wonderful meals Dotti and Ray made, because we can't get a case of beer and be in the chapter room playing pool all afternoon, and because we no longer are officially recognized by the national fraternity, it does not mean that we no longer have an obligation that we promised ourselves and Pi Kappa Alpha starting the day we received our bids.

We now must perform duties towards the house and the chapter that all of those alumni from the previous 79 years have done before us. We now have an obligation to the house in the form of an alumnus as opposed to an active member. Things included in these obligations are such efforts as the educational foundation, alumni events, and eventually, aiding in the re-collonization of the Gamma Delta chapter in 2005/2006. All of the forementioned are to become obligations for the rest of our lives though now many of you feel betrayed and rejected. I too feel that the punishments of nationals and the University were harsh, but we now cannot do anything but move on and take a new position towards a house and the fraternity that helped make us all who we are now.

For those of you who were involved in some of the incidents that led to our removal from the Univeristy as well as the destruction and defacing of our house, it is up to you and no-one else to take responsibility for you actions. That decision as to whether you are man enough to back up your actions with reason and accountability is up to you. I sincerely hope that those of you involved have enough respect for yourselves and your brothers to make the right decision.

Fraternally, Scott Coffey SMC 2001-2002

I just wanted to give a quick update. As most of you know I am now living in Los Angeles. Although I work a nine to five job I still find time to explore So Cal. I recently bought a Nissan Exterra to fit my extreme lifestyle. When I'm not closing big deals at work I can be found throwing back Michealob Ultras at the hippest Hollywood clubs or surfing the gnarliest waves from San Onofre to County Line! Over the past two winters I have also achieved legend status at the local ski mountains for my wild snowboard freestyle. My future plans include opening a ski & surf shop where I I will sell my own line of "extreme-wear."

Dear GD's,

I thought I would take the time to give a rundown of the brothers in San Diego. Greg Lewis has joined me in the ranks of commercial real estate with Burnham Real Estate services. We both are focusing on industrial. Brian Slocum is working with an industrial equipment and supply company. Claude L has decided to take up some more education and will be starting law school at Cal Western this coming fall. Broc Wavra continues his partying odyssey and spends most of his days surfing and bascially enjoying being alive. John Barry continues to kill the ladies and is a quasi model/actor/businessman. He was recently down here for an interview and we kicked back a few! Chad Bodine is working for an insurance firm and doing pretty well (as far as I know)=) Anytime you guys are out in San Diego, please give us a heads up. We were all together this past weekend and were reminding each other of how much fun we had at UofA. We would love to see you guys young and old so don't be a stranger!

Subject: GREEK BOWL
Gentlemen, I do not know if you are aware of this or not, or if it even matters anymore since the campus no longer recognizes us. BUT, Tucson Big Brother/Big Sisters is holding its Annual Greek Bowl this April the 27th, at the Lucky Strike on Speedway. Participation in a philanthropy is a necessary part of our commitment to the community and this event is associated with the University so we will be recognized as participants. The donation/fee is $500 per lane of 5-6 bowlers. The event is held as an attempt to attract new program participants. Also, the woman in charge of this event is the Alumni Advisor for Gamma Phi, and a friend of mine. She has told me that many of the sororities on campus(including her "G Phis") will be attending. Wanna look like a big sweety by bowling for kids? Wanna do so around some nice trim? The jist of this event is:$500=Trim for 5+Looking like a big sweety+Looking good to the University+Doing something great for the community+Fulfilling your duties as a Pike. I think that it would be a nice gesture of good faith on our part to try to take part in this worthy cause. Whoever wants more info should email me at the above address. ~Matt Reum "AG"

Hey guys, Just want to let everybody know that Myself, Scott Coffey, Dan Berger, Sean Koffel, Mike Lavance, Matt Bauman and Chapter Advisor Ron Gerhart all attended the International Convention in Palm Springs and it was AWESOME. We all had an incredible time and came up with some great new ideas for the upcoming semester and year. Hopefully everybody is ready to get things going again, and get the Gamma Delta chapter back to where we all know it should be. I can't wait to be back out there in 2 weeks and seeing all of you again. I Hope everybody's summer is going great.

One of my wife's classmates (Justin Milrad) from B-school is looking for some contacts in AZ with whom he could speak about possible opportunities in the financial services and/or technology industries. He graduated from Emory University's B-school this May but got screwed by Deloitte Consulting, who rescinded his offer right before graduation when the economy took a dive.

Justin's a sharp guy with past work experience in product/project management for a financial services and technology company. I have a resume I can email to anybody who might be able to at least talk to him about what's available (or not available, as the case may be!)in either Phoenix or Tucson.

Subject: Donations for Ruth
Dear Pi Kappa Alpha Alumni Member-

I am writing you this e-mail in response to the interest you showed in donating money to honor our beloved House Mother, Ruth Jones. You posted a message on the message board asking what you could do to help or where to donate money, well here's what we are trying to do. We want to dedicate the kitchen to Ruth and name it either "Ruth's Diner" or "Ruth and Dottie's Diner" (Dottie is her sister who is our current house mom and had been working with Ruth since the fall of '97 for those of you who were here before her). We are going to put in a quality tile floor, either quarry or ceramic depending on how much we receive in donations, and etch Ruth's or both of their names into the tile at both of the entrances to the kitchen. Dottie is ecstatic at the prospect of having a new tile floor, it is something they both really wanted and it is too bad Ruth won't be around to see it. We need all the help we can get as this is not going to be cheap. We would like to have it done over the summer when the house is not occupied, so hopefully we will have enough money to do it by then. A lot of alumni have posted messages asking how they can help or what they can do and this is the best idea we have come up with and we really need your help to make it a reality. Donations can be made to:

Gamma Delta Holding Corp. PO Box 42737 Tucson, AZ 85733

Checks payable to Gamma Delta Holding Corp.

If there are any other questions or concerns that you have, do not hesitate to contact me. I would love to hear from anyone and can provide any other infrormation requested. Thank you for you time.

She was a true benefit to the brothers in the house. I read some requests for information regarding donations and/or letters we can send to her family but no repsonse. Could some one please follow through and get the alumni this information please? To all the bro's who know Mother Goose - Hello and I hope life is treating you well!

On another note: Glad to see that all is, I think going well with the house. Just wanted to share my sorrow over the passing of PiKA's favorite cook. I think I had a semester pass to lunch time kitchen duty during my pledgeship and actually enjoyed every minute of it in large part due to Ruth. Her wonderful spirit and energy always made things a little easier, especially so far from home. Nothing was better than getting a hot, made-to-order breakfast and some words of encouragement right before a big exam or after a tough night out.

Ruth will be missed. She was tough as nails, and took no crap from anybody, especially in the kitchen. I suppose that's the only way you could work in a place like Pike. But most notably she was like a Mom away from home. She was always willing to listen to whatever problem a brother had. Always willing to offer advice. And always willing to sneak extra food to us during the more challenging weeks of pledgeship.

I shared the news of her passing to my Mom, and she was truly upset about it. And I guess that's the effect Ruth had. In parents weekend visits, and through numerous stories, all of our parents came to know and love Ruth. I think they appreciate Ruth's hard edge, coupled with her absolute love for the house and its members.

Our love for Ruth is evident in the stories told, and in the fact that the kitchen was one of the first stops for any returning alum during homecoming - that and Dirtbag's. I suppose my image of the house will never again be complete without Ruth in the kitchen. She will at least live in our memories, in phi phi k a.

When I attended Ruth's memorial yesterday I was touched to see so many people come out & honor her life. I work at Dr. Boxer's office where Ruth was treated for her cancer. Ruth was like a mother to so many of us here, even bringing in treats for our kids. She fought hard & she fought for a long time. She hardly complained, & we always looked forward to seeing her & Dorothy. I visited her several times when she was in the hospital & she would always say how she hated being sick & not being able to cook for her "boys". You could always see the love in her eyes when she was talking about the people she loved. I miss her tremendously, as I'm sure you all do. I just wanted to take the time & the office thought it would be nice to give our sincere condolences to those "boys" who meant most to her.

I couldn't agree more with Joe Mah! I think that it is outrageous that people in college would be more interested with having fun, studying & living the good life, than spending their days updating a web site. All sarcasm aside, I do somewhat agree with Joe in the fact that the site could be better monitored, but realistically who, of the students wants to take the time to do it? Pledges!!!! There smart, willing and impressionable, heck, they might even learn something, heaven forbid! Personally, I feel like the picture thing is rather AE Phiish, besides who is going monitor the content. I can only imagine some of the pictures that would have been submitted while I was there.(Ex: Composite '98) So, in closing, I do feel that something could/should be done to keep things up to date, especially with the Chapter News, but all Alumni need to seriously ask themselves if they would have wanted to spend their days updating a website when they were in college. Personally, I would have rather run naked through a field of cacti and rattlesnakes!!!!

Subject: Gamma Delta Effort
Members of Pi Kappa Alpha,

Over the past week we have all had the opportunity to think about the terrible terrorist attacks that took place in New York and Washington, D.C. The magnitude of this crisis has left us all in disbelief. While many of us are across the country from where these events occurred, the pain can be felt a lot closer than that. I am from Fairfax, VA, less than 10 miles from Washington D.C. Just recently, I discovered that my next-door neighbor was on the first flight that crashed into the World Trade Center Towers. When I thought about him losing his life, it filled my eyes with tears. What made it worse was that he left behind his wife, a three-year-old son, and a set of one-year-old twins.

Pain, anguish, and disbelief like this are being felt all across the country. Here in Tucson, it has motivated us to work together to help those victims in New York and Washington, D.C., and to do our part to show support for the United States. After the attacks last Tuesday, members of Pi Kappa Alpha decided that they needed to help. We worked with the Alpha Phi sorority to turn red, white, and blue ribbons into pins to be worn as a memory of those who died in New York and Washington. Starting on Wednesday morning, we asked for $1 donations for the pins, where the proceeds would be given to the American Red Cross. We did not know how much money we would raise. Since last Wednesday, we have raised over $16,000 for the American Red Cross, New York Disaster Relief.

In addition, the Tucson MayorÂ’s office called Pi Kappa Alpha to request some assistance at the Tucson Convention Center where the local blood drive is being held. We responded by sending 50 members of PiKA and 50 members of the Alpha Phi sorority. We have also had individual organizations that have come and ask us for help. An individual from a medical unit in Tucson saw us on campus passing these ribbons out. He told us that a medical group was being flown from Tucson to New York to help in the disaster effort. He asked us if we could make him 100 ribbons to be worn by the medical team from Tucson. With out hesitation, we did so.

I am sending this out to alumni of Gamma Delta, and to all alumni and members of PiKA, not for a thanks, recognition, or appreciation, but rather to show everyone that the values and ideals that Pi Kappa Alpha advocates and stands for, are STRONG and ALIVE. The members of Gamma Delta are filled with a great sense of pride from our recent accomplishments and what we have been able to do in this time of need. We wish to let everyone know that we are working hard on all fronts here in Tucson.

After the terrorist attack in New York and Washington, JC organized with Alpha Phi to make red white and blue ribbons into pins to wear on behalf of the men and women who died in New York and DC. On Wednesday, and again today, we asked for $1 donations for the ribbons that would be given directly to the American Red Cross. The response was incredible. On Wednesday we raised over $3300 and today we did the same. Pike was one of the first organizations to put together a fund raiser like this on the U of A campus. Brothers, I just wanted to tell everyone what has been going on at the house this summer. Jason Knapp, Mike Hardenbrook, and I have been working really hard on improvements around the whole house. We've painted most of the house, fixed doors, and other general repairs. But the main thing we have done is constructed a new bar in the courtyard. If everyone remembers what the old on looks like this is totally different. The new bar is twice the size and has double the bar area, and has a built in bbq pit and countertop. We've been working really hard so that the house looks as good as it did last August. For all the guys living in if you have any questions about stuff call me (I'm gonna be house manager) at 520-405-5037 or call Mike at 520-247-1073.

For anyone who knows Mother Goose, my wife Ellen and I now have a daughter Megan. She is beautiful and none of you can touch her! :) Meg was born on Memorial Day of this year and is growing quickly. Oh yes, the other things in my life...I do corporate sales for Office Depot, I live in a country town in Oregon (are you surprised Peterson?) and run a second business with my wife breeding, training and selling horses. Here is my question - We are looking to move back to Montana. Does anyone know of someone in the Bozeman / Billings area that I could contact? Subject: Late Summer/ Early Fall Report
Congratulations to the Alpha Zeta pledge class who were initiated on Friday, August 18th. The members of this pledge class have already stepped up big time and have accepted several chairman positions in the house.

A special thanks to everyone who helped out over the summer. Mr. Madison and Mr. Kelly ahve not been given enough credit for their participation in th house beautification projects. In addition, I would like to thank the Rold and Madison families for their participation in the Parents' Association. Your support and hard work are greatly appreciated.

With the "new" house, comes a great responsibilty. We now have a house we can be proud of and must treat it accordingly. I am sure that I can speak for the active chapter by saying that we are more than willing to accept that responsibility. This is just the first step towards making our house what it needs to be. We have plans for more improvements as the semester wears on.

Rush begins on Sunday night and needless to say, it will be an important one. Thanks to the new leadership of the house (both active and alumni) we will be pursuing a more well-rounded pledge class. We are looking for young men who meet the PiKA standards of athletics, social skils, and scholarship. If any alumni would like to make a rush rec., please do so ASAP.

Thanks go out to Justin Buck and Bram Govars for their recent visit. The information they were able to relay to us will prove to be very benneficial. The organization of the house in terms of leadership positions is one that I am proud to say is unmatched in recent history. Everything is now in place for an outstanding semester, it's now up to the active chapter to follow through. And we will.

On a personal note, I would like to thank all of the guys living in the house who have really been flexible with the new chnages. We're bringing back a lot of old traditions that have died out recently, and they have been more than willing to accept these changes. When I leave in May, I know that the house is going to be in better shape than I left it thanks to the younger members of Gamma Delta.

And last, but certainly not least: BUY A BRICK!

Brothers, I stumbled upon this website last week, and I must say it is great to see the names of the Gamma Delta alums from my time period at U of A. Outside the occasional Vegas trip, I have lost touch with many of you, and it will be interesting to hear what everyone is doing. I have been living in Denver since graduation, and am married with two boys. I also have worked as a bank vp for nine years, but will soon be leaving to join a financial planning firm for individuals and small businesses. This should be a great opportunity to run my own show, so I am really looking forward to the change.

It is also great news to hear that the Pikes are back in Drachman. When I think back on Drachman, it brings back all the good things we accomplished in those back halls--things I can be proud of. Whether it was convincing Satan(Finkel) to smash his head through our wall, making a cassette tape of Barney's(colclaser) gaseous snoring through both ends of his body, or hanging Tulps teddy bear from Mean Jean from my ceiling--these touching memories of brotherhood make me proud to have been a Pike.

Seriously, I would like to hear from all of you. Let me know what you are up to these days.

Ed

Season's Greetings Brothers!! Checking in with a PRE-2K update: 1) Any brothers heading from Phoenix to Tucson (or vice-versa) PLEASE exit Ray Rd, head west on Ray and make a right into the driveway next to Wendy's Hamburgers. In front of you will be Michael's Crafts and right next to this will be Arizona's first MaggieMoo's Ice Cream and Treatery. My (soft) grand opening was last Wednesday, (Dec. 15th). The real grand opening is going to be after the holidays when I really plan on hitting the marketing hard, although the FOX 10 morning show did a live remote there this morning. I own the 27th store nationwide with 2 more stores opening within the next 2-3 years. It's been pretty crazy with the store opening and the twins (13 mos and doing great)and still running the family business, but the customer flow is nice and steady even though it's winter and xmas. I'm looking for it to really pick up after the holidays. It's a very colorful store, we make our own ice cream and fudge and we also serve smoothies. Please stop in for the ol' phi phi discount. #2 I've had the pleasure to be able to get re-aquainted with brother Jon Hahn. He works at Phoenix Coca-Cola with my wife, Wendy (g-phi). Wendy tells me that Jon really worked his ass off and interviewed for and was promoted to "Key Account Manager". Not to shaby of a position - nice salary, company car, lots of entertaining (suite tickets, etc.) (Wendy is also a Key Account Manager). CONGRATULATIONS to Jon for beating out a number of other applicants. #3 This last weekend I was honored to be chosen as the Godfather of Larry Shurtz's baby boy (8 mos.), Carson. Very cute and BIG boy - he weighs as much and more than my 13 mo. old boys. #4 Vanna (Kevin Donahue for the younger brothers) is still working for Meg Ryan's production company and loving it. #5 Paul Penley (P2) finished building his home in Colorado and commutes back and forth to Hollywood where he is continuing his work in television and movies. Side note: to all you who know Paul - he very sincerely professed to us this last Sunday that he had finally found "the one" - riducule and much disbelief followed (with a little laughter thrown in as well).

Take care, Happy Holidays and please stop in for an ice cream when you're in the area.

The wedding party was loaded with Pikes including: Mike Shafer (Best Man), Trevor Clements, Jay Chapman, Blake Atkinson and myself.

Also in attendance was Scott Shafer (Smooth), who once again did not score any chicks.

The drunken festivities were held in Scottsdale, AZ and there is a video floating around somewhere which I'm sure will prove how drunk we really were....especially me.

Take care everyone...

Lute Olsen loses a Pike as Luke Recker has decided to transfer to Iowa. Lute Olsen, without missing a beat, took action in the replacement process. Obviously his philosophy is lose a Pike, get a Pike!

Did any of you watch the Arizona-Texas game on ESPN Saturday night? Gamma Delta's own, Alpha class-Dell Computer stud pup, Chris Halligan was sitting one row behind the Arizona bench. Obviously, Business Week and other business magazines were not enough!

Chris, well done. You'll make a nice shooting guard on the squad!

Go #2 Cats!

Ouch Babe!

While I may not wax poetic as does our Brother Hall, I must second his message. For a long time, I ignored the calls to service, contribution and support. I asked myself, "Why do I owe them anything?" I realize now that I don't. However, with that realization I have come to understand something deeper. In fact, I do owe a duty.

For a long time, I have neglected this duty. Of course, this is not to sugggest that all Gamma Delta alums owe any such duty. Certainly, our experiences differed, and our obligations will vary accordingly. For myself, I am indebted, not by any oath taken or pledge recited, but by something more enduring. It is true that I had opportunities for leadership and success as a result of my involvement with Gamma Delta, and I took those opportunities willingly. Furthermore, one may argue, convincingly, that in the absence of such opportunities I would have achieved less than I have today. But this is not the source of my duty. Opportunities and experiences are not gifts bestowed upon us. They are simply opportunities and experiences, and we do with them what we will. In the same vein, anything given to me by Gamma Delta was given back in time, energy and effort. I owe Gamma Delta nothing. But I do owe. I owe

Greg Halka Ryan Hunse Doug Lerner Brad Bolter Zac Fryer Gary Schultz Rob Hedrick Tom McDonagh Deryle House Charlie Cope Jeff Levine Bob Magnussen Brett Ransom.....

and many others too numerous to list. We come from different backgrounds and possess unique beliefs, but whether we like it or not, we are bound by a common experience, and for better or worse, we are Brothers. I owe my Brothers a duty to help perpetuate Gamma Delta so that others may share our bond and enlarge our circle. Our Brotherhood exists because of us and because of that we all have a stake in it. We can belittle our college experiences and relegate them to a forgotten time, but we can not deny that our relationships with eachother transcend friendship. For this, I owe.

Decide for yourself. If you arrive at the same conclusion that I did, then act. If you can buy a brick, buy a brick. If you can dedicate time and support, then do that. If you can do nothing else but participate, then do that.

I remember a trip I once took down Vine. I was asked a lot of questions along the way and faced many obstacles, but I always new where I was going. Over the course of the past few years our undergraduate Brothers faced many obstacles. But they have persevered and they too are heading home. I applaud them and I owe them for their dedication.

Subject: Bar Tab
Brothers:

We used to frequent Dirtbags for a number of reasons. Whether it was hanging out with our brothers, friends or if we were simply in search of a "meaningful relationship!" Regardless, we were often lucky to walk out of there with a bar tab less than $100.00.

Our Gamma Delta chapter has been the most meaningful experience in my life where I have established life long friendships. At the very least, I hope that I can give back to Gamma Delta as much if not more than it has afforded me.

Many brothers have been generous and have been giving back to our chapter even before they graduated. I've always postponed my giving as I was waiting for that "large salary." Now there is a way all of us can give without having to take out a second mortgage.

I started by saving one "Dirtbags-type" bar tab and purchased a very tangible $100.00 brick that will forever be apart of our great Gamma Delta chapter. Chris Sheehan and Victor Ellis bought a brick in memory of Todd Jeffery.

The next time you go to Homecoming and visit our chapter you'll be able to check out the awesome front entrance to 1525 East Drachman that will have many names etched from our collegiate experience. To top it off, your brothers will comment on your trim waistline because of that $100.00 of beer you spent more meaningfully!

You can buy the brick right now from this website.

...believing that, thus, we can most successfully accomplish our object.

Phi Phi,

Hall
